African Cherry

African Cherry (Citropsis articulata), locally known as omuboro, is a little known citrus having tangerine-like fruits with a typically sweet orange-like flavour. The plant is endemic to Central and Western Africa which used primarily for eating and in African traditional herbal medicine. An infusion made of the grounded root of the African cherry orange, drunk once a day for three days is considered to be a powerful aphrodisiac for men only. Alkaloids that presence in this plant that can increase blood flow in the sexual organs due to vasodilation thus sustaining male erection leading to enhance sexual performance. From International Journal of Pharmaceutical Science Invention, a research study revealed that the use of aqueous leaf extract of this African cherry orange has a significant effect on the serum testosterone level and sexual performance.
